Nostalgia-Fueled ‘Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always’ Trailer Reunites Original Cast, Pays Tribute To Thuy Trang

Truth: I’ve never really been into the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, but I have loads of friends who were and continue to be. For them, I’m sure it’s like 1993 all over again with the upcoming release of Netflix’s special, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always which celebrates its 30th anniversary.

As seen in the new trailer, the film is just a straight blast of nostalgia. We’ve known from the beginning that it will pay tribute to the late Yellow Ranger actress Thuy Trang, who tragically passed away in 2001. The story will find her character Trini making a fatal sacrifice to save one of her fellow Rangers from a Robo-Rita attack, and later we are introduced to Trini’s daughter Minh, played by Charlie Kersh.

Actors reprising their roles include David Yost, Walter Jones, Steve Cardenas, Johnny Yong Bosch, Catherine Sutherland, Barbara Goodson, and Richard Steven Horvitz. Not returning for the special are Pink Ranger Amy Jo Johnson, Red Ranger Austin St. John, and of course, the late Jason David Frank as the Green Ranger.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always hits Netflix on April 19th.
